Nhan Dan - A seminar on Vietnam’s economy has been jointly held recently by the Shizuoka prefecture of Japan and the Japan-based Vietnamese Embassy.

The seminar drew the participation of representatives from over 150 businesses in Shizuoka.

Currently, some 20 companies from Shizuoka, including Yamaha Motor, Suzuki and Toshiba, are investing in Vietnam.

Last year, Shizuoka exported US$328 million worth of products to Vietnam and imported US$217 million from the country.

Shizuoka became a sister province of the central province of Thua Thien-Hue of Vietnam last year. There are about 2,000 Vietnamese people studying and working in Shizuoka.
